One step is enough
Talk to someone who's been there.
Here's what happens. A person from the GA or GO team reads every message. We reach out by phone or text to listen and help you pick a next step. There's no cost to talk.
Common questions
What is gambling recovery coaching?
Coaching is one-on-one support from someone who has lived through compulsive gambling and come out the other side. A coach helps you set up a daily plan: meetings, a phone list, money safeguards and honest check-ins. It isn't therapy or medical care. It's a guide who knows the road.
How is a coach different from a sponsor?
A sponsor is a free, volunteer relationship inside GA, built around working the steps. A coach usually works in a set structure with goals, regular sessions and practical help with things like budgets, blocking apps and talking to family. Many people have both, and a good coach will encourage you to find a sponsor and keep going to meetings.
What happens after I fill out the form?
A real person from GA or GO reads it and reaches out, usually by phone or text. We'll listen to where you are and point you to the right next step: a meeting tonight, coaching, treatment or debt help. There's no pressure and no cost to talk.
What is the 12-day retreat-style coaching model?
It's a short, focused stay away from everyday triggers. Lilac Grove in Peoria, Arizona, pairs psychiatric care with daily gambling recovery coaching over 12 days, so you can steady your mind, face the money and family side, and leave with a plan for home. You can reach them at (844) 494-9435.
Can coaching help my family too?
Yes. Gambling is a family disease, and the people closest to you carry it too. Coaching can include help with rebuilding trust and talking about money, and we can point loved ones to Gam-Anon and family meetings so they heal alongside you.
Is coaching a replacement for treatment or crisis care?
No. Coaching is peer support, not medical, legal or financial advice. If you're thinking about hurting yourself, call or text 988 right now, or call 1-800-MY-RESET.
